NEXT FIELD DAY MEETING to be held Tuesday, June 19, 7:00 PM at Hope Homes (regular meeting place).
Jim Miller, K8EIO
Over the last several months, we've been talking about and planning for the CFARC Field Day 2001 Extravaganza. We have a pretty clear idea as to how we physically want to set up the site, and we have the power and food items taken care of. We'll be having a training program in using the logging software that will be on site. Several members have volunteered to operate stations and we're even coming along on the toughest Field Day nut to crack shelter.
Now June is upon us and it's time to fish or cut bait. There are still some loose ends to get tied up, such as actual operating schedules, additional shelter, checking out antennas and equipment, being on hand for the set-up and tear-down and, well, you know the drill. If you see a spot where you can give the Club some assistance before, during or after Field Day, please let me know by phone (330-688-5761) or E-Mail (k8eio@arrl.net). We would like to see as great a Club participation as possible this year. It's fun! It's great experience! It's tradition! It's HAM RADIO at its best! Please plan to come out for Field Day at Silver Springs Park in Stow on June 23-24.
In last month's "Relay" we mentioned the availability of Field Day pins and T-shirts for 2001. Pins are $2.50 each (actually they're $5.00, but the Club is subsidizing half the cost) and T-shirts are $9.95 (sorry, no subsidy here). I haven't heard of any interest in either of these items which would indicate that a) no one is interested in them, b) no one read the "Relay" article or c) both of the above. If you're interested in either item, please let me know so that we can get them ordered in time for Field Day.
FIELD DAY IS COMING! BE PART OF IT!
If you have suggestions for shelter, or if you want to be a part of Field Day 2001, please contact K8EIO at 330-688-5761 or at k8eio@arrl.net.
